Let me start by saying that this restaurant is an absolute gem not to be overlooked. I’ve been in Arizona for a few years now. This state has slowly began to feel like home, but i felt like i was missing something. I came across Backstreet a few months back, now everything makes sense, I practically live here now . The food and staff here have brought me a sense of comfort and nostalgia that I wasn’t looking for, but something I needed. Not a single dish i have tried, has disappointed me. Chef Lin puts her heart and soul into the food that makes you feel like home no matter how far you may be. It’s authentic and filled with more love than your belly can handle. The portions are a great size, the flavors are rich, and the kindness you are greeted with is unmatched. Would highly recommend giving this spot a try, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Very disappointing. It scks i have to give them (kabayan) one star review but the food was a letdown, it even took longer than expected to arrive. So many things wrong with my order. First time to try them. First off the fried fish- If i wanted battered fish instead of deep fried fish the filipino way- I woud have gotten fish and chips! The pancit bihon was ok so that’s the one star. I am going to forgive the garlic fried rice even if it was dry. I wouldn’t have mind waiting for hours for good food because I (was craving) wanted filipino comfort food. I probably would have forgiven them if they just canceled my orders. Kainis. I’m really disappointed. I'm never going to order from this place again! Thumbs down!

This restaurant is bizarre. I think I get the theme of trying to combine "all" of Asia's most popular dishes but a good majority of them are "Filipino" recipes. The atmosphere was confusing as it was a slightly modern bar with little to anything that denoted to an asian restaurant; more western but whatever. The food though, it's abysmal. We tried the "Filipino" dishes four times, two times ordering from food apps and two times in person. So far, we have been let down everytime. The fifth time around, the food resembles nothing like the dishes we ordered and our delivery guy had to wait nearly an hour at the resturant to pickup our order. The adobo my mom had this time was pretty much fried chicken with no soup base. The arroz caldo was like eating the canned Campbell's chicken and wild rice soup. Me and my sister got something different this time because of our past experiences. We thought they'd at least do better making Japanese or Korean food, but we were let done again... I ordered "Japanese Curry" and the so called curry was sweet, orange, and filled with crinkle fries and bits of carrots. I might as well have been eating carrot soup with fries. The katsu chicken was fine but the portion was small. The bbq that my sister got was a dry steak with little taste you'd find in the spice ingredients they use in korean dishes. The sisig.. looked fine but was dry and hard like if I was eating it stale, oh and no egg. Lastly, the garlic fried rice. They nailed it on it tasting like garlic because it felt like I was actually eating the vegetable. I don't know how the owner let's this all go out without checking it. The people who give this place a good review somehow have never tried the real versions of these recipes. If you want real Filipino food go to these places in AZ, Lutong Bahay, Halo-Halo kitchen, Nanay's (Filipino Restaurant), At my place cafe, Casa Filipina, and then Tambayan. Last one kinda shares a name with "Flaming pig" but they shutdown and Tambayan took over the location actually. You'll find more filipinos at these locations than Backstreet Asia, not because of location but because of quality and authenticity. Flaming pig was a tragic mess just like this restaurant. In the end, this is the last time we're wasting $100+ on this restaurant.

I've lived on the East and West Coast and traveled abroad tasted some of the most authentic Filipino food. This isn't your typical hole in the wall Filipino place. It's a bit more modernized, which I love! The Pancit was good, Korean BBQ was good, too. Our favorite was an appetizer consisting of fried pork belly with Vinegar to dip. The boneless chicken with the bang bang sauce was another one of our favorites! Their martinis are delicious. Our waiter was phenomenal and very accommodating. I highly recommend this place! I'm going back very soon to try more dishes and for Comedy night on Friday.

Went for the first time it was the best food I have eaten in a while. For a salt person, this was amazing as I didn't didn't even need to use it because the flavor was so full and absolutely delicious. The Chicaron appetizer was the most amazing thing I have ever had!!! I will be back for sure!!!! The chef was so nice, and the server was very helpful and kind. Pictured is the Steak Curry Singaporean noodles & Shrimp Fried Rice. I ate the appetizer too fast to get a picture, lol!!!!!

We had the Tour of the Philippines and it was outstanding! It includes Beef Kare-Kare, Chicken Adobo, Sisig, and Chopsuey served with Jasmine Rice.

Bicol Express is not spicy and lack tastefulness
Sizzling sisig is really hot when served but the taste is not that good, just like minced pork in a sizzling plate
Lechon Kawali is super flirt and the price for the serving is very poor
Crispy Palabok is not recommended
Tocino IS VERY AWFUL!!! Not a Tocino taste
Calamari is good, texture is soft but the dip is not that good

I had the best experience at this restaurant! The owners are simply amazing and so kind and make everyone feel like family. The food was so hot, fresh, and delicious! The wings were my favorite! Will definitely return.
